Build fewer, better
pools with us.
We build twelve custom concrete pools a year with our own crew, out of a yard in Burleigh Heads. If you would rather do the work properly than do more of it, we would like to meet you.

Plate K-01 · Steel tied by our own crew, Tallebudgera Valley
One crew on every Retreat pool since 2009
N°01 · Why Retreat
Three reasons people stay
We build twelve pools a year, not forty, so nobody is rushed between sites and everyone sees a pool through from the first peg to the first swim.
01
Twelve pools a year
A smaller programme means most of the crew works one site at a time. You learn each pool properly instead of chasing four at once.
02
One crew, start to finish
The people who dig a pool are the people who hand it over. You see the whole job, and you know who built the part before yours.
03
Time to do it properly
The programme has room for rain, rock and doing a step twice if it needs it. Nobody is asked to pour on a bad forecast to make a date.
N°02 · What you get
Eight things, in writing
What working here looks like.
Every one of these is written into your employment contract, not a handbook. Ask anyone on the crew how it works in practice.
01 · Pay
Pay above award
Every role is paid above the relevant award rate, and pay is reviewed each July.
02 · Hours
Monday to Friday
Sites run 7:00 to 15:30 on weekdays. Saturday work is rare and paid as overtime.
03 · Kit
Ute and tools
Leading hands drive a company ute. Everyone gets tools, PPE and workwear, replaced when worn.
04 · Training
Paid training
Tickets, licences and short courses are paid for and done in work time, from shotcrete to first aid.
05 · Apprentices
Apprenticeships
We take on one or two apprentices a year and pair each with a senior tradesperson for the full term.
06 · Super
Super on time
Superannuation is paid with every pay run, and you can check it any day.
07 · Travel
Work within 90 minutes
Every site is within 90 minutes of the Burleigh Heads yard. Travel beyond the yard is paid time.
08 · Pride
Twelve-month return visits
Come back with a director a year after handover and see how your work has held up.
N°03 · Open roles
3 roles · Updated October 2026
Three roles, open now.
All roles are based at our yard in Burleigh Heads, with sites across the Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Northern Rivers.

We meet on one of our current sites, not in an office. You walk the pool with a director and the leading hand and see how we work.
03
One paid day
Paid trial day
Spend a day with the crew, paid at the rate for the role. It is as much for you as for us: you should know the job before you take it.

N°05 · From the crew
Luke Brennan · Site manager
“I came for a three-month contract in 2014 and stayed, because nobody here asks you to cut a corner to make a date. You build it once, you build it right, and you come back in a year to see it.”
